Course Description & Lesson Notes

Official Video Description:

Want to learn Python from scratch? This beginner lesson teaches you about variables, user input, and simple math. This is the first lesson in your Python journey. We cover: What is a programming language? What is a variable? How do we assign to variables? How do we display things on the screen, and how do we get input from the user? The lesson includes some exercises. And if you want to download the Jupyter notebooks I used in this course, you can get them (for free) at https://PythonForNonProgrammers.com . ----- Homework exercises for this lesson: 1. Define two variables, x and y, with integer values. Multiply them together, and assign the result to a third variable, z. Use print to display the value of z. Hint: In programming, we typically use the * for multiplication. 2. Ask the user, via input, to enter their name. Print a nice greeting to the person. 3. Define two variables: x should contain a string, and y should contain an integer. What happens if you try to add them together? What happens if you try to multiply them?
