This includes what to do with identity columns, nullable fields, truncation and ensuring you have the proper number of fields in the insert and values list. Common errors covered include -Cannot insert explicit value for identity column in table when IDENTITY_INSERT is set to OFF -Column count doesn't match value count -There are fewer columns in the INSERT statement than values specified in the VALUES clause. -String or binary data would be truncated At the end of this tutorial you will know how to: 1) Create an insert statement 2) Review a table structure using the sp_help command 3) Insert an explicit value in an identity column 4) Work with null and nonnullable fields 5) Troubleshoot common error messages
